Technology makes it possible to do office work away from the office, and more and more employees are doing just that. The traditional office is often replaced by a “virtual office” – a nontraditional work environment.
In this workshop, participants learn strategies and techniques for handling the pressures and demands of the job while working in a non-traditional office setting.
Course Objectives:
- Explore guidelines for successfully working in a non-traditional workplace (i.e., alternative duty station)
- Examine the issues of distractions, priorities, and accountability in the remote office environment
- Learn communication strategies for working together without being together
- Explore techniques for handling the remote office communication tools (i.e., remote meetings, conference calls, video conferencing, texting, emails, etc.)
- Identify the remote office “mindset”
- Assess your virtual office style(s)
- Plan, start, and run a focused remote meeting
- Understand remote meeting logistical challenges
